Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Cookie Sheet
  • Knife
  • Aluminum foil or some sort of Cookie Sheet Liner

Ingredients

  • 14-16 oz Firm Tofu Go for organic if possible
  • 3 Tbsp Soy Sauce, Teriyaki, or Tamari This binds the bread crumbs and seasonings together
  • 1 Tbsp Red Chili Pepper Flakes Opt out of this ingredient if you do not enjoy spicer foods
  • 1 Tbsp Tumeric
  • 1 Tbsp Oregano
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Cracked Black Pepper
  • 4 Tbsp Rice Crumbs, Panko Bread Crumbs, or Bread Crumbs I've gotten the best results with the bread crumbs, but the choice is yours:)

Instructions

  • Cut the tofu into ~1 inch by 1 inch pieces and place in a large mixing bowl
  • Add soy sauce, red chili pepper flakes, oregano, turmeric, garlic powder, black pepper, and 3 Tbsp of bread crumbs into the mixing bowl with the tofu in it
  • Mix all ingredients in the bowl gently with your hands (The tofu will break up easily if you are not careful enough) until all ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the mixture
  • With your hands, compact each tofu cube with enough of the bread crumbs in the bowl to cover at least 75% of the surface area of the tofu
  • Place these covered tofu pieces on a cookie sheet with aluminum foil or a sheet liner on it, and sprinkle the remaning 1 Tbsp of bread crumbs evenly across the tofu pieces
  • Place the sheet in the oven and cook at 450 degrees farenheit until the tofu pieces are a dark, crispy brown (Approximiatly 15 minutes)
